Solution

Restarting in a "Base" extension set

1. In the apple Menu, select 'Control Panels', then 'Extensions Manager'.

2. In the View menu, make sure 'As Packages' is selected.

3. In the Selected Set: dropdown, select 'Mac OS x.x.x Base' ("x.x.x" refers to OS version number), then select 'Duplicate Set....'

4. Name the duplicated set, then click 'OK'.

5. Enable the appropriate Canon BJ Printer Driver or Canon MultiPASS package by clicking the check box.

6. Click the 'Restart' button to restart the computer.

7. After the computer restarts, verify that the printer can now be selected in Chooser and can print, then proceed to troubleshooting the extension conflict .
