The borderless printing allows you to print without any margins. The images below show standard printing on the left, and borderless printing on the right.

Follow the steps below to use borderless printing.

Set borderless printing in Windows

1. Open printing preferences from the Properties / Preferences dialog box.

2. Follow the instructions for your Windows Operating System:

   • Windows 10 / 8 / 8.1 - Select Start and search for Devices and Printers. Right-click on the listing for your printer, and select Printing Preferences from the menu.

   • Windows 7 - Select Start > Devices and Printers. Right-click on the listing for your printer, and select Printing Preferences from the menu.

   • Windows Vista - Select Start > Control Panel >  Hardware and Sound >  Printers. (If you are in Classic view, select Printers directly from the Control Panel.) Right-click on the listing for your printer, and select Preferences from the menu.

   • Windows XP Home Edition - Select Start >  Control Panel >  Printers and Other Hardware > Printers and Faxes. Right-click on the listing for your printer, and select Preferences from the menu.

   • Windows XP Professional Edition - Select Start > Printers and Faxes. Right-click on the listing for your printer, and select Preferences from the menu.

   • Windows 2000/Me/98 - Select Start > Settings >  Printers. Right-click on the listing for your printer, and select Preferences from the menu.

3. Select the Page Setup tab.

4. Select Borderless Printing. The location of this option may vary depending on your model.

   

5. If a message prompts you indicating that the document to be printed is enlarged, select OK.
   If a message prompts you to change the media type, select the media type you want from the drop-down menu, then select OK.

   

6. Drag the slide bar in the Amount of Extension section to adjust the how much of the image you want to extend over the border.
   
   

   Slide the bar to the left to decrease the extension. Slide to the right to increase the extension.
   
    If you reduce the amount of extension, it may create margins on the edges of the paper.

7. Select OK. Borderless printing is now set.
   
   

About borderless printing

• In the borderless printing mode, the data extends off the paper. If you reduce the amount of extension, you may see a white frame along the paper edge(s). You may want to print a sample to check the amount of extension.
• If you use an application where margins can be set, set the margin to 0 mm.
• When the borderless printing mode is set, the following settings are unavailable:
  • Page Size (Limited to preset sizes for selected media type.)
  • Printing Type.
  • Duplex Printing (availability depends on the media type selected).
  • Stamp/Background tab: All items unavailable.
