Perform Print Head Deep Cleaning (Mac OS 9.x)

More powerful cleaning than Print Head Cleaning can be performed to resolve clogged print head nozzles. If print head cleaning is ineffective, even after performing up to three cleanings, perform a print head deep cleaning.  If the print head deep cleaning is ineffective,service may be required

Note:  Perform print head deep cleaning only when necessary, as it consumes a large amount of ink.

1. Click 'Page Setup' from the 'File' menu.
   
   
    
2. Click 'Utilities'.
   
   
    
3. Select 'Cleaning' from the drop-down menu.
   
   
    
4. Click the Deep Cleaning icon.
   
   
    
5. Select the print head for ink color(s) requiring print head Deep Cleaning and click 'Execute'.
   
   Note:  Print head Deep Cleaning consumes ink. To avoid excess ink consumption, select the Print Head for cleaning with care.
   
   - When performing print head Deep Cleaning for all colors, check 'All Colors.'
   
   - When performing print head Deep Cleaning for the colors in Group 1, deselect 'All Colors' and check 'Group 1.'
   
   - When performing print head Deep Cleaning for the colors in Group 2, deselect 'All Colors' and check 'Group 2.'
   
   Note:  When 'Initial Check Item's is clicked, the confirmation items before performing print head deep cleaning will be displayed.
   
   
   
   * Display may vary depending on the printer.
    
6. Print head deep cleaning will start.  Do not perform any other operations until print head deep cleaning is complete.  Print head deep cleaning will take approximately 60 seconds.
    
7. Print head deep cleaning is completed.
