Solution

Print a Self Test

The nozzle check pattern printout helps to identify printing problems (such as no ink appears on the paper, printing is blurred, or printing contains white streaks).

  1. When the printer is powered on, set A4 or letter-sized plain paper in the sheet feeder or cassette.

  2. Make sure the front cover of the printer is open.

  3. Press and hold the <Resume/Cancel> button. When the Power lamp blinks twice, release the <Resume/Cancel> button.  The Power lamp will blink and printing of the nozzle check pattern will start.

  4. Confirm the nozzle check pattern printout.  Please be patient for about 10 seconds until printing has completed.

How to examine the nozzle check pattern

Normal:

Lines are completely drawn in the pattern.

Error A:  No ink is ejected. (Nothing appears on the output.)

Error B:  Some colors of ink are not ejected completely.

A sample in which no cyan ink is ejected onto the paper.

Error C:  White streaks appear in the color pattern.

If the printout has no errors,  the print head is fine.

If the printout has errors, perform a print head cleaning.
