Insert a Memory Card

1. Confirm that the printer is powered on and open the card slot cover.

2. Insert the memory card in the card slot. 
   
   Note:  Where to insert the memory card varies, depending on the memory card type.  Insert the memory card properly, referring to the following images:
   
   
   
   <2> Upper tier:
               CompactFlash Card
               Microdrive
               xD-Picture Card *
   
   <3> Top of the lower tier: 
               SmartMedia Card
   
   <4> Center of the lower tier: 
               Memory Stick
               Memory Stick PRO
               MagicGate Memory Stick
               Memory Stick Duo *
               Memory Stick PRO Duo *
               MagicGate Memory Stick Duo *
               SD card
               MiniSD card *
               MultiMedia Card
   
   * When inserting these memory cards, use the dedicated memory card adapter.  (You may need to refer to your memory card's manual for the correct adapter.)
   
   
3. Confirm that the indicator lamp lights.

Note:  If the Indicator Lamp does not light after inserting the memory card, try removing and reinserting the memory card.  If the light still does not come on, there may be a problem with the card or the slot on the printer.
                        <6> Card Eject Button

To remove the memory card inserted in the card slot in the upper tier, press the Card Eject button.

Note:  Removing the memory card or turning off the printer while the Indicator lamp is blinking may damage the memory card.

Memory cards which can be set directly in the card slot:

<1> CompactFlash Card *1 , Microdrive
<2> SmartMedia Card *2
<3> Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, MagicGate Memory Stick
<4> SD Card, MultiMedia Card

*1 Supports TYPE I / TYPE II (3.3V) card
*2 Supports only 3.3 V card. 1 MB / 2 MB cards are not supported.

Memory card settable in the card slot using the adapter:

<6> Memory Stick Duo *4 , Memory Stick PRO Duo *4 , MagicGate Memory Stick Duo *4
<7> MiniSD Card *4

*3 Please purchase the CompactFlash Card adapter for the xD-Picture card separately.
*4 Please use the dedicated adapter supplied with the memory card.
