How to operate the main top dial on the EOS Digital Rebel XT.

Solution

The <> dial is for setting shooting settings and selecting and setting menu items.

Operating the <> Dial

(1) After pressing a button a button, turn the <> dial.

When you press a button, its function remains active for 6 seconds (6).  During this time you can turn the <> dial to set the desired setting.  When the timer runs out or you press the shutter button down halfway, the camera will be ready to shoot.

  • Use it to select the AF point.
  • After pressing the <MENU> button, turn the <> dial to select the desired menu item.
(2) Turn the <> dial only.

While referring to the LCD panel or viewfinder display, turn the <> dial to set the desired setting.

  • In this way, you can set the shutter speed, aperture, etc.
