Replace the entire cartridge

If the Nozzle Check pattern does not print correctly after print head cleanings:

For the BC-21e replace the appropriate BCI ink tank.  Perform two print head cleanings, and then print a Nozzle Check pattern.  If the symptoms persist, replace the print head (cartridge).

For the BC-20 and BC-22, replace the entire print head (cartridge).  The ink and print head are one piece.

   

1. Power on the printer.
   
   
2. Open the front cover.
   
   
   
   
3. After confirming that the cartridge holder has moved to the center, lift the cartridge locking lever.
   
   
   
   
4. Remove the cartridge and check for any orange packing material or tape.
   
   
   
   
5. Reseat the cartridge and lock the locking lever.

6. When using the BC-21, make sure the ink tanks are snapped in properly.
