Description

Press ON/OFF switch to reset the device if it is not functioning properly.

Solution

Reset the device when it is not functioning properly.

If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it.

Important: If resetting the printer's power does not clear the error or return the machine to a functioning state, it may be necessary to attempt a service reset. Click here for instructions to attempt a service reset.

  1. On the operator panel, press and hold the <ON/OFF> button for one second. (The display will go blank.)
Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.

  2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the <ON/OFF> button again.

  3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.

Service Reset:

  2. Confirm the printer is not on and then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
If the power cord was disconnected (as stated in step 1) in order to shut off the printer, go to step 3.

  3. Press the <ON/OFF> button repeatedly five (5) times.

  4. Re-connect the power cord.

  5. Press the <ON/OFF> button to power the printer back on.

    Important:
    • This procedure will not resolve a physical hardware issue.
For example, a paper clip is wedged between the paper feed rollers or gears; or, the scanner assembly is detached from the inside housing.
    • This procedure will not resolve all service errors or LCD related anomalies.
Service errors appear as four characters (a combination of alpha and numeric codes).
