How to remove / reseat the print head

Occasionally the print head may need to be removed or reseated to clear errors. Follow the instructions below to reseat/reset or remove the print head.

Note: The images below are taken from an i80 printer.

1. Power the printer on.
2. Open the print head cover. (The print head will move to the center from the right.)
   
   
   
   Note: If the print head lock lever's tab is visible, proceed to step 5.  If the print head lock lever's tab is not visible, continue to step 3.

3. Press and hold the Resume/Cancel button for more than three seconds. (The print head will move to the right a little.)
   
   
   
    
4. Confirm that the print head lock lever is visible.
    
5. Hold and lift the print head lock lever.
   
   
   
   Caution: The print head should not be touched during this operation to avoid possible damage.
    
6. Hold and slowly move the print head lock lever up and down several times.
   
   
   
    
7. Lower the print head lock lever to lock the print head in place.
    
8. Close the print head cover.
