Solution

Deleting the Scanner Driver and/or Software (N670U, N676U, N1240U, N650U, N656U, N1220U)

Note: When uninstalling the scanner driver, be sure to first disconnect the scanner from the computer.

  1. Place the CanoScan Setup CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.

  2. When the CanoScan Setup Utility menu appears, click the option to 'Uninstall the Software' and then follow the prompts.

    For instructions, perform your search again using "Installing downloaded driver"

Mac OS 9.x

  1. If the CanoScan Setup Utility menu does not automatically start, then double-click the CanoScan... icon and then the Setup icon.
  2. When the CanoScan Setup Utility menu appears, click the option to 'Uninstall the Scanner Driver' and then follow the prompts.

Mac OS X Native Mode

Since a Mac OS X Native driver was not on the original Setup CD for these scanner models, you will need to download Deldrv from the Canon website.

For instructions, perform your search again using "Installing downloaded driver".
