Solution

Error messages displayed on the LCD and how to handle them

 
When an error has occurred in the printer, the error or message is displayed on the LCD.
Take the appropriate action to return to the normal condition.

Ink has run out.
Ink has run out.
When canceling printing, press the Stop / Reset button.
When continuing to print, press the OK button.
Replace the ink tank with a new one as soon as possible after printing finishes.
The printer may be damaged if printing is continued under the ink out condition.
The following ink tank cannot be
recognized.
The installed ink tank is not compatible with this printer.
Install the appropriate ink tank.
More than one ink tank of the
following color is installed
Each ink tank is not installed in place.
Install them in the correct position.
The remaining level of the following
ink cannot be correctly detected.
An ink tank that was once used up or refilled may be installed.
Replace the ink tank.

Although it is possible to continue printing by pressing the Stop / Reset button for more than five seconds, this operation will release the function for detecting the remaining ink level.
Please note that the problems caused by ink refill are not guaranteed.
Some ink tanks are not installed in

Supported paper size is A4 / Letter / A5 / B5 / 5" x 7".
Pressing the OK button ejects the paper in printing and resumes printing from the front side of the next sheet.
Please note that the data supposed to be printed on the back side of the paper will not be printed if this error occurs.
Auto head align has failed.

Press the OK button to release the error.
Check the following and do automatic print head alignment again.

- Check if A4/Letter-sized paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder.
- Check if the paper output slot is not exposed to a strong light source
- Print the nozzle check pattern to check the status of the print head.

If the problem continues, do manual print head alignment.
Incompatible device detected.
Communication with the connected camera is not possible.
Disconnect the cable from the camera to resolve the error.
Confirm the following items and do printing again.

1) Check if the camera is compatible with "PictBridge" or Canon "Bubble Jet Direct".
If the camera is not compatible with them, Camera Direct Printing is not possible.
2) Depending on the model or brand of your camera, you may have to select a print mode compliant with PictBridge before connecting the camera.
Perform necessary operations according to the instruction manual supplied with your camera.
3) A specified period of time may have elapsed without receiving a response from the digital camera.
Disconnect the cable from the camera and reconnect the cable.
The waste ink absorber is almost full.

Press the OK button to release the error.
For a while, printing can be continued; however, when the waste ink absorber becomes full, you need to contact your local Service Center for replacement of the waste ink absorber and printer maintenance.

Waste ink absorber is a part inside the printer, which absorbs ink used in the cleaning operations, etc.

If paper is not set, set paper and press the OK button. When paper is set, check each item and do printing again.

1. Check if the usable paper is loaded.
2. Check if paper is loaded properly.
3. If printing from a computer, check if the feeding method in the printer driver is correctly set.
4. Check if the recommended paper is used or the number of sheets does not exceed the paper loading limits.
5. Cleaning the paper feed roller may resolve this error.

 
The paper is jammed.
Clear the jam.
When paper is likely to jam, check the followings.

1. Check if there are not any foreign materials.
2. Check if the usable paper is loaded.
3. Check if paper is loaded properly.
4. Check if the recommended paper is used or the number of sheets does not exceed the paper loading limits.
Inner Cover is open.
Close the inner cover and press the OK button.
If the inner cover is opened during printing, the printer may be damaged.

Error code
Turn off the printer, and unplug the power cord of the printer from the power supply. About ten minutes later, plug the power cord of the printer back in and turn on the printer. .
