Saving Movies on DVDs or Blu-ray Discs

The software that comes with the camera does not have a function for saving movies or still images that have been imported to a PC on DVDs or Blu-ray discs. Please use commercially available software to make DVDs or Blu-ray discs.
Note that you cannot connect your camera to a commercially available DVD/Blu-ray recorder with cables to import movies or still photos.

  • To view movies on a DVD playback device (such as a DVD player), it is necessary to convert your movie files to a type that can be played back on a DVD playback device by using what is generally called "DVD authoring software." Please refer to the camera's instruction manual for information about file types for images.
  • It may not be possible to play back the discs you have created on some playback devices. When you use commercially available software, please see the instruction manuals to check the specifications of the playback device in use.
