To adjust the scanner resolution in IJ Scan Utility, start IJ Scan Utility (macOS / Windows).  Then, follow the steps below:

1. Click the Settings button on the main screen of IJ Scan Utility.
   
    
    
2. Click the section on the left whose settings you want to change (Document Scan, Photo Scan, etc.).
   
    
    
3. Click on the Resolution drop down menu and select the desired resolution to scan at:
   
    
    
4. Click OK.

To scan at other resolutions besides those listed in the drop down menu, scan with the ScanGear option (Driver for Mac OS X).
