Description

Locate and remove paper jammed inside the PIXMA MG7720 printer.

Solution

If the jammed paper tears and you can't remove the paper either from the paper output slot or from the transport unit, or if the jammed paper remains inside the machine, remove the paper following the instructions below.

  • If paper becomes jammed during a print job and you need to turn off the machine to remove it, touch the Stop button to stop the print before you turn off the machine.

Written Instructions

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.

  2. Lift up and open the operation panel as far as it will go.

  • Don't touch the clear film (A) or white belt (B).

If you touch these parts with paper or your hand, you could soil or scratch them, and it could damage the machine.

  1. Check if the jammed paper is under the print head holder.

If the jammed paper is under the print head holder, move the print head holder to the far right or left, whichever makes it easier to remove the paper.

Hold the top of the print head holder and slide it slowly to the far right or left to move it.

  2. Hold the jammed paper with both hands.

If the paper is rolled up, pull it out.

  3. Slowly pull out the paper, so as not to tear it.

Pull out the paper at an angle of about 45 degrees.

  4. Make sure all the jammed paper is removed.

If the paper tears when you pull out it, a bit of paper may remain in the machine. Check for these items and remove any paper that remains.

    • Is there any paper left under the print head holder?

    • Are there any small bits of paper left in the machine?

    • Is there any paper left in the left and right empty spaces (C) in the machine?

  5. Slowly close the operation panel.

All jobs in the print queue are canceled. Reprint your documents if necessary.

Make sure you are have the right size paper loaded correctly. If a paper jam message appears on the touch screen or on your computer screen when you resume your print jobs, there may be some paper still inside the machine. Check the machine again for any remaining bits of paper.
