Follow the instructions below to remove paper that is jammed from either the paper output slot, the transport unit, or inside the machine.
If paper becomes jammed when printing, press Stop before you turn off the machine.
Remove paper

Turn off and unplug the machine.
- Lift up to open the operation panel as far as it will go.
Do not touch the clear film
(A) or white belt
(B). If you soil or scratch these parts by touching them with paper or your hand, it could damage the machine.

Check if jammed paper is under ink cartridge holder. If so, hold the top of the holder and slide it slowly to the right or left, whichever makes it easier to remove the paper.

Hold jammed paper firmly in hands.
- Slowly pull out paper at a 45 degree angle so it doesn't tear.
- Make sure all jammed paper is removed.
If the paper tears when you pull out it, a bit of paper may remain in the printer. Check the following to remove any remaining paper.

Slowly close operation panel.

Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
All jobs in the print queue have been canceled.
- Restart your print job.
When you reload the paper, make sure to load it correctly. If a paper jam message appears on the printer's LCD or on your computer screen, there may be some paper still inside the printer. Check the printer again for any bits of paper that may remain.
