Description

Learn how to remove paper jams inside your PIXMA MG5720 printer..

Solution

Follow the steps below to remove a paper jam from the paper output slot (front of the printer) or from the transport unit (inside the printer).

Note If paper is jammed and you need to turn off the printer to remove it, tap Stop before you turn off the machine.

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

  2. Lift up the operation panel as far as it will go.

Important Don't touch the clear film (A) or white belt (B). If you soil or scratch these parts, it could damage the machine.

  3. If the jammed paper is under the print head holder, grasp it on both sides and move it to the far right or left, so you can remove the paper.

  4. Hold the jammed paper firmly with both hands and slowly pull it out.

  1. Pull out the paper at an angle of about 45 degrees.

  2. Make sure all of the jammed paper is removed.

If the paper tears when you pull out it, a bit of paper may remain in the machine. Check the items below and remove any paper that remains.

  • Is there any paper left under the print head holder?

  • Are there any small bits of paper left in the machine?

  • Is there any paper in the left or right empty spaces (C) in the machine?

  1. Slowly close operation panel. All jobs in the print queue are canceled. Redo the print jobs.

  2. When you reload the paper, make sure you use suitable paper and load it correctly.

If a paper jam message appears when you resume the print job, there may be some paper still inside the machine. Check the machine again for any bits of paper that remain.
