Printing with a Wi-Fi Printer (Connect Station CS100)

Solution

The procedure for making a Wi-Fi connection from the Connect Station to an access point and printing saved images with a printer is explained in the following sections.

Getting Started

You can use the Connect Stations remote control to perform operations while using a TV as a monitor.

Power buttonTurn on the power or put Connect Station into the standby state.

NOTE
  • Printers that can be connected
-You can print by connecting Connect Station to a printer supporting PictBridge (Wireless LAN) or PictBridge (LAN) via an access point or a router.
  • Movies cannot be printed.
  • Printing by connecting Connect Station and a printer with a USB cable is not possible.

Step 1: Connecting to an Access Point

Establish a connection between the Connect Station and the access point.
Select the printer to connect to. Before performing this operation, connect the printer to the same access point as Connect Station.
For more information on printer settings, please refer to the printers instruction manual.

1. Press the [ ], [ ] keys on the remote control to select [Preferences], then press [SET].

2. Press the [ ], [ ] keys to select the [ ] tab.
Then, press the [ ], [ ] keys to select [Wi-Fi settings] and press [SET].

The following screen appears.

Three connection methods are available..-
Please click the desired method below, and establish a connection using the procedure explained.
3-A: WPS Push Button Configuration (PBC) method
3-B: WPS Pin Code (PIN) method
3-C: Search for a network

3-A: WPS Push Button Configuration (PBC) method
IMPORTANT
First, check whether the access point you will use supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup).

3-A-1. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select [ WPS Push Button Configuration (PBC) ], then press [SET].

3-A-2. Press the access points WPS button while the screen shown below is displayed.
For details aboutthe location of the button and how long to press it, refer to the access points instruction manual.

3-A-3. The following screen is displayed when a connection has been established..


Proceed to step 4.

3-B: WPS Pin Code (PIN) method
First, check whether the access point you will use supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup).
3-B-1. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select [WPS Pin Code (PIN) ], then press [SET].

3-B-2. The PIN code will be displayed on the screen. Make the appropriate PIN code settings on the access point.
For more information on how to set the PIN code, please refer to the access points instruction manual.

3-B-3. When the access point settings are complete, press [SET] on the remote control.
The following screen appears.

3-B-4. When the connection has been established, the following screen appears.


Proceed to step 4.

3-C: Search for a network
IMPORTANT
Before establishing a connection, ensure you have the following information*:
  • Access point name (SSID)
  • Encryption key (password) specified for the access point
* For information on the access point name (SSID) and encryption key (password), refer to the access points instruction manual.

3-C-1. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select [Search for a network ], then press [SET].

An automatic search for an access point will be conducted.
3-C-2: After the search finishes, the following screen will be displayed. Press the [ ], [ ] keys to select the desired access point name (SSID) and press [SET].

3-C-3. Entering the encryption key (password).

NOTE
Select a character with the [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ] keys, then press [SET] to enter it.
Select [ ], [ ] and press [SET] to move the cursor.
Select [ ] and press [SET] to erase the last character you entered.

3-C-4. After you have finished, select [OK] and press [SET].
Connection begins.

3-C-5. When a connection has been established, the following screen will appear.


Proceed to step 4.

4. The following screen is displayed. Press [SET] after the connection has been completed.

Step 2: Making connection settings for the printer

Select the desired printer. Before performing this operation, connect the printer to the same access point or a router as Connect Station.
1. Press the [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ] keys to select [Printer selection] on the [ ] tab and press [SET].

2. The printers that can be connected will be listed.
Press the [ ], [ ] keys to select the printer, then press [SET] to append [ ] for the printer to be connected.
*If only one printer has been detected, [ ] is already appended.

3. After checking that [ ] is appended, press [BACK] or [ ] to exit the setting screen.
After returning to the screen shown below, press [Back] again to return to the home screen.

Step 3: Printing

1. Select the desired images.
Press the [ ], [ ] keys to select [Print] on the Home screen.
The image selection screen will appear.

2. Press the [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ] buttons to select images to print, then press [SET] top append them with a checkmark ().
After selecting the image to print, press [MENU].

NOTE
  • Up to 99 images can be selected at a time.

3. Select the layout.
Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select [Layout], then press the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose [Bordered] or [Borderless].

4. Make the settings for printing image shooting dates.
Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select [Date printing settings],then press the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose [With date] or [Without date].

5. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select [Print] and press [SET].

REFERENCE
  • Depending on the printer model, the Connect Stations [Print Setting] screen may not be displayed or printing dates is not possible.
  • Depending on the printer model and settings, the [Layout] setting may be inconsistent with the print result.
  • With Connect Station, the settings other than [Layout] and [Date printing settings] cannot be specified. For information on how to specify the paper size, type, etc., refer to the printers instruction manual.
