Description

Learn how to clean the print head from the operation panel of a PIXMA MG3620.

Solution

If you print a nozzle check pattern and notice missing lines or horizontal white streaks, you can clean the print head. This unclogs the nozzles and restores the print head condition.

Note A print head cleaning consumes ink, so perform this task only when necessary.

To clean the print head, follow these steps from the printer's operation panel:

  1. Make sure the printer is turned ON.

  2. Hold down the Stop button until the orange lamp flashes twice, then immediately release it.

The machine cleans the print head. When the cleaning completes the ON lamp lights after flashing.

Caution Don't perform any tasks until the machine finishes. This takes about 1 to 2 minutes.

  3. Print the nozzle check pattern again to check the print quality. If needed, you can perform the print head cleaning a second time.

If the problem doesn't resolve after cleaning the print head twice, you can deep clean the print head.
