Written instructions

Remove a paper jam

If you can see the jammed paper at the paper output slot, follow these steps to remove it.

  1. Press the Stop button to cancel print jobs, then turn the machine OFF. Any print jobs in the queue will cancel.

  2. Hold the paper with both hands and slowly pull it out so it doesn't tear.

Caution Don't pull the paper out from the front tray below the paper output slot (even if you can see the jammed paper). If you do, it may damage the machine.

  3. Reload the paper, then press the machine's Black or Color button. Reprint the page if necessary.

Good to know

  • When you reload paper, make sure it's suitable for printing and loaded correctly.

  • We recommend paper other than A5 size to print documents with photos or graphics; otherwise, the printout may curl and cause paper exit jams
