Adjusting the White Balance

Solution

The white balance setting procedure is explained below.
IMPORTANT
  • In the following example procedure, when the camera's shooting mode has been set to [Program AE] () mode.
  • The position and shape of the operation buttons, screens displayed, and setting items may differ according to the model you use.

For a list of shooting modes in which the white balance setting can be changed, please refer to the table at the bottom of the page.

1. Press the <Power> button to turn the camera on.

2. Press the [ ] button.

3. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose [White Balance] (If the settings have not been changed, [ ] will be displayed), and then press the [ ] or [ ] button.


4. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose the desired setting, and then press [ ].


White Balance Setting Options

Setting optionsDetails
AutoAutomatically sets the optimal white balance for the shooting conditions.
Day LightFor shooting outdoors in fair weather.
CloudyFor shooting in cloudy weather or at twilight.
TungstenFor shooting under ordinary incandescent lighting.
FluorescentFor shooting under white fluorescent lighting.
Fluorescent HFor shooting under daylight fluorescent lighting.
CustomFor manually setting a custom white balance

5. The icon for the mode you selected will be displayed on the screen after the setting has been changed.

REFERENCE
(Custom White Balance) You can adjust the white balance to suit the light source where you are shooting for image colors that look natural under the light in your shot. For more information, please refer to the camera's Instruction Manual.
