Changing the Recording programs according to the situation, such as in dark surroundings (XC10)

Solution

In this mode, after you adjust the shutter speed, the camcorder automatically sets the appropriate aperture to obtain the optimal exposure for the subject.
You can also adjust the special scene mode to record in low-light situations.

Adjusting the Shutter Speed

1. Turn the camcorder on.

2. You can use the camera’s shooting mode dial to set the recording mode to [ ]. While pressing down the shooting mode dial button (), turn the shooting mode dial () to select the desired mode.

3. Turn the control dial to adjust the shutter speed ().

  • You can also set the shutter speed by touching [ ], and dragging your finger left/right along the adjustment dial displayed at the bottom of the screen to select the desired value.

2 Touch [ ] and then touch [Scene].

3. Select the desired option.

4. Touch [ ].

Beach To record on a sunny beach without the subject being underexposed.

NOTE
  • [Portrait] / [Sports] / [Snow] / [Beach]: The picture may not appear smooth during playback.

[Low Light]:
- Moving subjects may leave a trailing afterimage.
- Picture quality may not be as good as in other modes.
- White points may appear on the screen.
- Autofocus may not work as well as in other modes. In such case, adjust the focus manually.
