This article lists various types of media that can be used with the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000.

Solution

To get the best printing result, choose paper suitable for printing. Canon provides various types of paper suitable for documents as well as paper suitable for photos or illustrations. We recommend the use of Canon genuine paper for printing your important photos.

The Model Number of Canon genuine paper is shown in brackets. Refer to the instruction manual supplied with the paper for detailed information on the printable side and notes on handling paper. For information on the page sizes available for each Canon genuine paper, access our website.

 You may not be able to purchase some Canon genuine papers depending on the country or region of purchase. Paper is not sold in the US by Model Number. Purchase paper by name.

  • manual feed tray: A4, A3, A3+, A2, B4, B3, Letter, Legal, 8" x 10" (20 x 25 cm), 10" x 12" (25 x 30 cm), 11" x 17" (28 x 43 cm), 14" x 17" (36 x 43 cm), 17" x 22" (43 x 56 cm), 8.27 x 23.39 inches (210 x 594 mm)

 17" x 22" (28 x 43 cm) may appear in some programs as ANSI-C.  If you see this option as a paper size, select it to print on 17" x 22" paper.

Printing on the following page sizes from a PictBridge (Wireless LAN) compliant device is not supported:

- A5, B5, B4, B3, Legal, 10" x 12" (25 x 30 cm), 11" x 17" (28 x 43 cm), 14" x 17" (36 x 43 cm), 8.27 x 23.39 inches (210 x 594 mm)

- Maximum size: 17.00 x 47.24 inches (432.0 x 1200.0 mm) (This size requires firmware version 3.010 or later)
 

 Manual feed tray

- Minimum size: 8.00 x 10.00 inches (203.2 x 254.0 mm)

- Maximum size: 17.00 x 47.24 inches (432.0 x 1200.0 mm) (This size requires firmware version 3.010 or later)
 

Paper Weight / Thickness

You can use paper in the following weight/thickness ranges.

* Do not use paper heavier or thicker than this, as it could jam in the printer.
 

Top Feed

Plain paper: From 17 to 28 lb (64 to 105 g / m2)

Specialty paper: Up to 80 lb (300 g / m2) / from 4 to 11.8 mil (0.1 to 0.3 mm)
 

Manual Feed Tray

Specialty paper: Up to 107 lb (400 g / m2) / from 4 to 27.6 mil (0.1 to 0.7 mm)
