Description

Automatic Gain Control (AGC) Limit

Solution

Recording in dark surroundings may result in more noticeable video noise. That happens because the camcorder automatically increases the sensitivity level. You can set the AGC limit by setting the maximum gain value to be used and get a dark picture without increasing the brightness level.

NOTE
Setting the AGC limit is not available in the following cases.
  • When the recording program is set to "Manual Exposure" or "SCN"
  • When exposure is set to (manual)
  • During infrared mode

Setting the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) Limit

1. Set the mode switch to [ ] or [CINEMA].

2. Move the POWER switch to [CINEMA].

3. Touch [ ].

4. Scroll up or down and touch [AGC Limit].

5. If you touch [ ], the meter will appear.

6. To adjust the gain, touch [ ] or [ ] or drag your finger along the dial.
The lower the value, the lower the gain limit. (You can get a dark picture without increasing the brightness level.)

REFERENCE
To delete the gain limit, touch [ ].

7. Touch [ ] to close the menu.
NOTE
  • When the AGC limit is enabled, the gain limit value (dB) will appear on the screen.
  • When the [Looks] setting is set to [Wide DR], the lowest available setting is 6 dB.
  • When you configure or delete the "Wide DR" setting, the AGC limit setting will be set to (automatic) even if you adjust it using (manual).
  • If you set [CUSTOM Dial & Button] to [ AGC Limit], you can adjust the AGC limit with the CUSTOM dial and button.
