Description
The PowerShot G5 X and G9 X use a different connector than most Canon PowerShot cameras. Regularly, the connection that is supported by the Camera PowerShot is a USB Mini B connector.
Solution
The PowerShot G5 X and G9 X use a USB Micro-B connector, typically use for most brand smarphones, tablets, and portable hard drives. Such cables can be used for both charging the camera (The camera must be off) and connecting the camera to a computer for downloading images.
Note: Some Micro-B USB cables may be specified or constructed for charging only, which means that the camera will only charge with charge-only USB cables, and will not connect to a computer for downloading images and/or video. Please check the packaging or specifications of the cable you use to ensure that you do not get a cable that is charge only if you intend to download images via USB Micro B; we recommend that you do obtain and use a cable that supports data transfer and charging.
