“Canon IJ Driver Installer has stopped working” in Windows 10 (Version 1511)

Solution

An error message Canon IJ Driver installer has stopped working may appear while installing the MP Drivers for All-In-One printers on a Windows 10 computer.

Please follow these steps to install the drivers.
  1. From the Start menu, click Settings --> Devices --> Printers & Scanners.

  2. Towards the bottom of the Printers & Scanners area, turn off Let Windows manage my default printer.

  1. Install the MP drivers again.
Note that there may be extra icons for your printer that will be present after installing the drivers.  The extra icons can be deleted.  Try to print a test page from the Printer Properties for each icon to see which icon is the correct icon for your printer.  Also, note that this option will not occur if you are running a version earlier than Windows 10 version 1511.  To check the version, hold the Windows key and press R to bring up the Run box.  Type winver and press OK.  The version number will be displayed in the box.
