Solution

You can copy recordings to an external video recorder.

In High Definition

If the external digital video recorder has an SD card slot compatible with the type of memory card used, you can copy your recordings in high definition directly from the memory card.
only: To copy the recordings in the built-in memory, copy them to the memory card in advance.
The detailed procedure depends on the device used so be sure to refer to the instruction manual of the digital video recorder.

NOTE
The camcorder cannot be connected directly to an external Blu-ray Disc recorder using a USB cable in order to copy recordings.

1. Turn on the recorder.

2. Power the camcorder using the compact power adapter.

3. Press [ ] to set the camcorder to Playback mode.
-Open the [Movie Playback] index screen for AVCHD movies.

4. Connect the camcorder to the digital video recorder using the supplied USB cable.
NOTE
Camcorder: Select the memory that contains the scenes you want to copy.
  • Select an option other than [All (for PC only)].
  • When the connection is successfully established, [USB Connection] appears on the screen.

5. Operate the recorder to begin recording.

In Standard Definition

You can copy your movies by connecting the camcorder to a VCR or a digital video recorder with analog audio/video inputs. Video output will be in standard definition, although the original scenes are in high definition.

1. Connect the camcorder to the VCR using the STV-250N Stereo Video Cable (optional).

STV-250N Stereo Video Cable (optional)

2. Power the camcorder using the compact power adapter.

3. Press [ ]to set the camcorder to Playback mode.
- Open the [Movie Playback] index screen for AVCHD movies.

4. Verify that [Other Settings] -> -> [AV/Headphones] is set to [AV].

5. Make sure the recorder is ready to record.

6. Camcorder: Locate the scene you wish to copy and pause the playback shortly just before the desired scene.
REFERENCE
  • By default, the date and time will be embedded in the output video signal. You can change this using the [Display Date/Time] setting.

7. External recorder: Start recording when the scene you wish to copy appears; stop recording when it ends.

8. Camcorder: Touch [ ] to stop playback.
NOTE
Use an external Blu-Ray Disc recorder compliant with AVCHD ver. 2.0 specifications to copy onto Blu-Ray discs movies recorded in 60P or MXP mode.
