Connect the camera to a printer via Wi-Fi to print as follows.
To connect to a printer via Wi-Fi, you can either use the camera as an access point (Camera Access Point Mode) or use an existing access point.
IMPORTANT
- In order to connect a printer to the camera via Wi-Fi, the printer needs to be compatible with PictBridge (DPS over IP).
- These steps show how to connect to the printer via Wi-Fi from the camera. For details on the printer Wi-Fi connection, refer to the manual for your printer.
- Here, instructions are given using PowerShot SX420 IS as an example. The position and shape of the operation buttons, the screens displayed, and the settings will differ depending on your device model.
NOTE
Connecting the Camera and Printer via Wi-Fi Register the printer you wish to connect via Wi-Fi.
1. Press the [  ] button.
NOTE
- With the default settings, the device name (
 ) is displayed.
- To change the cameraâs nickname, press the [
 ], [  ] buttons to choose the [Nickname] field, press the [  ] button to display the keyboard, and then enter the desired nickname. After you have finished entering the nickname, press the [ MENU ] button to return to the registration screen, press the [ ], [ ] buttons, choose [OK], and then press the [ ] button.
- This nickname will be displayed on [Select a Device] screen when connecting to other devices via Wi-Fi.
2. Press the [ ], [ ], [  ], [  ] buttons, select [  ], and then press the [ ] button.
3. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose [Add a Device], and then press the [ ] button.
NOTE
- Once you have connected to a printer, it will be displayed on the [Select a Device] screen in step 3. Select the printer to connect to it.
- Once you have connected to devices via the Wi-Fi menu, recent destinations will be listed first when you access the Wi-Fi menu. You can easily connect again by pressing the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose the device and then pressing the [ ] button. To add a new device, display the device selection screen by pressing the [ ], [ ] buttons and then configure the setting. If you prefer not to display recent target devices, choose [MENU] > [
 ] tab > [Wireless settings] > [Wi-Fi Settings] > [Target History] > [Off].
4. In the printer's Wi-Fi setting menu, choose the SSID (network name) displayed on the camera.
NOTE
You can improve the security by opening the [ ] tab on the MENU screen, selecting [Wireless settings]  [Wi-Fi Settings] [Password], and then changing the setting to [On] to display the SSID and the password. Enter the password that is displayed on the camera in the password field on the target smartphone.
5. When the printer is ready to be connected, the printer name is displayed on the camera.
Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose a printer, and then press the [ ] button.
6. When the printer registration is complete, the following printing screen will appear.
Choose an image to print. 7. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select the image you want to print, and then press the [ ] button.
8. The menu items are displayed.
Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose [  : Print ] ( ), and then press the [ ] button.
9. The printing setting screen will appear.
- To set the number of copies, press the [ ], [ ] buttons, select ( ), press the [ ] button to access the setting screen, and then enter the value.
- To add the date, press the [ ], [ ] buttons, select (
 ), press the [ ] button to access the setting screen, and then enter a value.
- Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select [Paper Settings] (
 ), and then press the [ ] button.
10. The screen where you can set the paper size is displayed.
Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select the paper size, and then press the [ ] button.
- In the example, we selected [Default].
11. The screen where you can set the paper type is displayed.
Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select the paper type, and then press the [ ] button.
- In the example, we selected [Photo].
12. The screen where you can set the layout (borders) is displayed.
Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to select the layout, and then press the [ ] button.
- In the example, we selected [Bordered].
13. The printing setting screen will reappear.
 : Check the settings.
 : Press the [ ], [ ] buttons to choose [Print], and then press the [ ] button.
14. Printing now begins.
