Downloading the Drivers and Software

  1. Click here to access the PRO-10 support page.

  2. Your computer's operating system will be detected and will appear in the dropdown menu. If it does not, select it.

If you are using a Mac, you will also need to download the IJ Network Tool.

The setup procedure varies depending on your operating system. The instructions for a Windows setup are below.

macOS instructions can be found here.

Windows

After downloading the printer driver, open the file to begin the setup procedure. If you are asked if you want to allow the installer to make changes to your computer, select Yes.

  1. Click Next.

  2. Select your Place of Residence and click Next.

  3. Read the License Agreement and click Yes to begin the installation.

  4. After the printer driver has been installed, the following screen will appear. Select Use the printer with wireless LAN connection and click Next.

  5. The program will prompt you to turn on the printer. Make sure it is powered on and click OK.

  6. The program will then search for your printer on the network. If it is found, the installation will continue. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete the installation. If it is not found, the following window will appear. Select Next to proceed with the installation. If your printer is already on the network but the computer could not detect it, make sure that the computer is on the same network as the printer, temporarily disable any firewall software on your computer and click Redetect.

  7. Selecting Next brings up the following screen. Connect the printer to your computer with a USB cord.

  8. After the printer has been detected, follow any remaining on-screen instructions to finish the installation.

  8. After installing the printer driver and the IJ Network Tool, connect the printer to your computer with a USB cord.

  9. In Finder, select Go and Applications. Then, open the Canon Utilities folder. Open the Canon IJ Network Tool folder. Double-click on the Canon IJ Network Tool.

  10. If this window appears, select Use the printer on the network.  Then select OK.

  11. The computer search for printers connected via USB.

Then, a screen will appear which will show the printer connected to the computer. Click it to select it, then click OK.

  12. The printer will search for wireless routers.

If the following screen appears after the printer has searched for wireless routers:

    /library/attachments/embedded/17314_image_1.jpg

Make sure that your network name is displayed and click Yes. You may be asked to allow the IJ Network Tool to access data stored in the Keychain. If so, click Allow.

    /library/attachments/embedded/17320_image_1.jpg

If the following screen appears after the printer has searched for wireless routers:

Select your network from the list. Enter the network password for your wireless router and then select Connect.

If there are multiple routers with the same name that have been detected by the printer, the following window may appear:

Select the option to use either one wireless router or multiple routers with the same SSID, then click Continue.

  13. The printer will attempt to connect to the wireless network and it will verify that it is connected.

The computer will then attempt to locate the printer on the network.

  14. When the computer has found the printer on the network, the Setup Completion window will appear. Disconnect the USB cable. Before clicking OK to add the printer to the installed printer list, go into System Preferences and Print and Fax / Print and Scan / Printers and Scanners and remove the listing for your printer. If you do not do this, then you may receive a message that your printer is offline when attempting to print after finishing the setup. This is because the computer is trying to send a signal to the printer via a USB connection instead of wirelessly.

  15. After clicking OK on the Setup Completion window, the Add window will appear. Wait for the Canon IJ Network listing for the printer to appear. Select it and make sure that the Use field at the bottom indicates Canon xxxx Series. Then select Add.

The printer is now ready for use.
