Description

Learn how to set up your PIXMA PRO-100 to work wirelessly with a computer using the drivers available on the Canon website.

Solution

Follow the steps below to connect your printer to a wireless network (LAN). You will need a USB cable to complete the steps in this article.

Download the drivers and software

  1. Go to the PRO-100 drivers & downloads page.

  2. Your computer's operating system appears in the drop-down menu. If it doesn't appear, select it.

  3. Under the Drivers tab, choose the Select button to the right of the driver. Select Download.  If you are asked to Run or Save the file, select Save.

  4. After you download the printer driver, open the file to begin the setup procedure. If asked whether you want the installer to make changes to your computer, select Yes.

  5. Select Next.

  6. Select your place of residence, then select Next.

  7. Read the License Agreement and select Yes to begin the installation.

  8. After the printer driver installs, the following screen appears. Select Use the printer with wireless LAN connection, then Next.

  9. The program prompts you to turn on the printer. Make sure it's on and select OK.

  10. The program will then search for your printer on the network. If it's found, the installation continues.  Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. If it's not found, the following window appears. Select Next to continue.
Note If your printer is already on the network but the computer doesn't detect it, make sure the computer is on the same network as the printer, temporarily disable any firewall software on your computer, and select Redetect.

  11. Connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable.

  12. After the printer is detected, follow any remaining on-screen instructions to finish the installation.
