If you print something from your MAXIFY printer and the printout is smudged, it is possible that a bottom plate cleaning may need to be performed. To clean the bottom plate, follow the steps below.
- From the HOME screen, tap Setup.
- In the Setup menu, tap Maintenance.
- In the Maintenance menu, scroll down and tap on Bottom plate cleaning.
- Tap Yes.
- Remove all loaded paper as instructed. Tap OK.
- Fold a single sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in half widthwise, then unfold the paper.
Fold one side of the opened paper in another half, aligning the edge with the center crease, unfold the paper, then tap OK.
The paper will look like this:
- Load the folded paper into cassette 1 with the creases on top. Tap OK.
- The bottom plate cleaning will then begin. When it has finished, tap OK on the following screen.
