MAXIFY Remote UI - Security, Records of Use and Firmware Update

The MAXIFY printer has an HTML interface known as the Remote UI.  This interface can be accessed from any device that is connected to the same network as the printer.  To access this interface:

  1. From the home window, select Setup -> Device settings -> LAN settings -> Confirm LAN settings -> WLAN setting list or LAN setting list. Then from the displayed window, check the IP address.

     For the MAXIFY iB4020, press the Setup  button, then select Device settings -> LAN settings -> Print LAN details. This will print out the network setting information for your printer.

  2. From your computer, smartphone, or tablet device, open the Web browser, and enter the following URL:

http:// <Printer IP address>

For <Printer IP address>, enter the IP address that you checked in step 1.

When you enter the IP address, you will be prompted to enter a Username and Password.

Username: ADMIN

Password: See "About the Administrator Password."

 The Username display may differ depending on your browser.
 

Security

In this area, you can change Administrator password for the printer.  You can also set Operation restrictions (such as copying operations, fax transmissions, etc.).

Records of Use

In this area, you can see how much the printer has been used.  This includes information on the total number of sheets used in the printer, the number of sheets scanned, etc.

Firmware Update

 If your MAXIFY printer is operating in Access Point mode, this option will not be available.

In this area, you can show the current firmware version number, install an updated version of the firmware if one is available, adjust the options for a DNS server and adjust the options for a proxy server.

If you need to update the firmware:

  1. Select Install update. The printer will check for an updated version of the firmware.

  2. If a newer version of the firmware is available, you'll be asked if you want to update. Click the Update button to start the update process.

    The printer will turn itself off and begin downloading the update. After the download has finished, it will automatically apply the update. The status of the update will appear on the screen of your computer or mobile device.

    You can also see the status of the update on the display of the printer. Please note that this may take several minutes.

  3. After the update has been applied, the printer will power back on. When the following message is displayed, click OK.
