In order to operate the built in light on the EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM lens, you must first remove the end cover by unscrewing it in a counter clockwise direction:

You can now press the button on the lens body with the lens icon.

Please be sure to replace the cover when you are done shooting with the light.
