Wireless setup method is an easy way to set up your printer on a wireless network for use with your Mac®.
Use this for first-time installs, for adding the printer to other computers on the network, or for reconnecting to the router.
This is a two-step process:
- Start wireless setup on your printer.
- Download and install the setup file on your computer.
1. Start wireless setup on your printer

Press the HOME button (A) on the printer.
If an error screen is displayed, tap OK, then press the HOME button.

Flick the screen left or right, then tap LAN settings.

Tap Wireless LAN setup.

Tap Cableless setup.

Tap OK.
2. Download and install the setup file on your computer

Download the setup file.

Double-click the downloaded .dmg file. Double-click the Setup icon when the Canon_IJ window opens.

Select Next on the first screen.

Select Start Setup.

Select Yes on the License Agreement screen.

On the Select Connection Method screen, select Wireless LAN Connection, then Next.

Select Connect via wireless router (recommended), then Next.

On the Printers on Network List, select your printer (verify it by the last 5 digits of its serial number), then select Next.

Drivers are installed. Wait for the process to finish.

Select Add Printer on the Add Printer screen.

On the Add screen, select the MB**** series printer with Bonjour Multifunction listed in the Kind column (**** represents the MAXIFY model number). Select Canon MB**** series from the Use: drop-down, then select Add.

Select Next on the Add Printer screen.

Click Next on the Test Print Window, then click Next on the Setup Complete screen. You are almost finished.

On the Software List, select any optional software to install, then select Next.

Skip or complete the User Registration.

Setup is complete. Select Exit.
