Learn how to set up your Maxify MB2120 printer on a wireless network from your Mac.

Solution

Follow the steps below to set up your PIXMA MB2120 on a Wi-Fi® network so you can easily manage it from a Mac® computer.

There are two parts to the setup:

  1. Start the setup process on your printer.
  2. Download and run the setup file on your computer.


1. Start the setup process on your printer

  1. Press the HOME button (A) on the printer panel.

  2. Use the arrow buttons (B) to select LAN settings.

  3. Press the OK button.

  4. Press Wireless LAN setup, then the OK button.

  5. Select Cableless setup, then Press the OK button.

2. Download and run the setup file on your computer

  1. Get the setup file, read the information, then select Download.

  2. From the file location where you save downloads, double-click on the .dmg file.

  3. When the Canon_IJ window opens, double-click on the Setup icon.

  4. Select Next on the first screen.

  5. Select Start Setup.

  6. Select Yes on the License Agreement screen to continue.
     
  7. On the Select Connection Method screen, select the Wireless LAN Connection radio button, then Next.

  8. Select Connect via wireless router (recommended), then Next.

  9. On the "Printers on Network List" screen, select your printer (verify it by the last 5-digits of the serial number), then select Next.

  10. The printer drivers install. Wait for the process to finish.

  11. Click Add Printer on the Add Printer screen.

  12. On the Add screen, select the MB**** series printer with Bonjour Multifunction listed in the Kind column (**** represents the MAXIFY model number). Select the Canon MB**** series from the Use: drop-down, then Add.

  13. Select Next on the Add Printer screen.

  14. Select Execute to do a test print, or Next to continue.

  15. Select Next.

  16. On the Software Installation List screen, select any optional software to install, then Next.

  17. Skip or complete the User Registration.
     
  18. Select the Exit button. Installation is complete.
