This camcorder offers various shooting modes to help bring your creative intent to life. After you select a mode, you can adjust related settings, such as the shutter speed, using the control dial. You can also use the FUNC. menu or Browser Remote application.
Manual Exposure : [ M ] This mode gives you the most freedom over shooting settings as you can adjust the aperture, shutter speed (in terms of either fractions of a second or shutter angle) or ISO speed / gain*. * The gain can be adjusted only for clips, not photos

â¢The aperture, shutter speed/angle or ISO speed/gain value will be highlighted in orange. To change which value is highlighted, continue to step 2. To adjust the highlighted value, skip to step 6.

3. Touch [ : System Setup ] -> [ Control Dial ].
4. Select the desired function to assign to the control dial.

Aperture Priority AE : [ Av ] In this mode, after you adjust the aperture value with the control dial, the camcorder automatically sets the appropriate shutter speed to obtain the optimal exposure for the subject. Adjusting the aperture is useful in changing the depth of field, which can allow you to blur the background and make the subject stand out more.

2. Turn the control dial to adjust the shutter speed.

Auto : [ AUTO ] Use this mode to let the camcorder select various settings. This is the perfect mode for those times when you do not want to take the time to adjust settings.
Special Scene : [ SCN ] You can select the Special Scene mode that best matches your shooting situation. Some shooting situations can be tricky, such as when the subject is lit with just a spotlight, so you may find setting the appropriate Special Scene mode to be convenient.
