Follow the instructions below to connect up to 5 devices and print wirelessly from your mobile device.
Before you begin
Change the printer's LAN settings and device settings to prepare for wireless direct connection.
To check the printer's MAC address, serial number, and current wireless network settings, print out the network setting information.
Change the printer's wireless network settings to enable wireless connection

Turn on the printer.

Press and hold the Wi-Fi® button and release when the Wi-Fi lamp flashes.

Press the black button. The on lamp flashes and the Wi-Fi lamp lights up.

Press the Wi-Fi button repeatedly until the direct lamp lights. Wireless direct is enabled as indicated by the lamp lights below.
The image on the left shows that both the wireless LAN function and the wireless direct function are enabled. This means that the printer can be connected to a wireless router in addition to directly communicating to a computer or mobile device wirelessly.
The image on the right shows that the wireless direct function is enabled. This means that the printer can directly communicate to a computer or mobile device wirelessly, but it cannot be connected to a wireless router.

Press the color button or the black button to finalize the setup.
Change the device's settings and connect to the printer

Turn on wireless communication on your device.

Enable Wi-Fi on your device's settings menu.
For more information on how to turn on wireless communication, see your device's instruction manual.

Select XXXXXX-MG3000 series from the list displayed on device. XXXXXX represents the last six digits of the printer's MAC address.
If XXXXXX-MG3000 series does not appear on the list, wireless direct is not enabled.
- Enter the password.
Check the password for wireless direct connection from the network setting information printout.

Your device should connect to the printer.
Print with wireless direct

Install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app to print from your smartphone or tablet. Download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
