Create Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) for the PIXMA MG3020

Learn how to set up WPS on your PIXMA MG3020 through a wireless network.

Solution

Follow the steps below to connect your printer wirelessly using WPS®.

 

Before you begin

 If your Wireless access point or router supports WPS, you can easily connect your Canon wireless printer to your home network.

  • Wi-Fi Protected Setup® or WPS is a method that allows you to easily connect network devices to a secure wireless network.

  • You don't need to know your SSID or password (network key) when you use this method.

  • To check if your router supports WPS, confirm your router shows the symbol below. In some cases, a WPS button is labeled. For more details, please see the access point or router’s user manual.

  1. Prepare to press the WPS button on the wireless router.

  2. Press and hold the wireless button (A) on the printer until the wireless lamp (B) flashes.

  3. Press the color button (C).

  4. Press the wireless button repeatedly until the direct lamp (D) lights up.

  5. Press the color button, and ensure that the on lamp (E) and the wireless lamp (B) flash. Next. then press and hold the WPS button on the wireless router within 2 minutes.

  6. Make sure the wireless lamp is lit.

  7. The connection is now complete. Please install the software on your computer.
