Learn how to use Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY on your iOS device to scan a document or photo with your Canon printer / scanner and send the image by email.



Before you begin

  • Get the Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY app at the Apple App Store or iTunes.
  • You must have the Mail app on your iOS device configured to work with an email address (Yahoo!, Gmail, etc.).

Steps to scan and email a photo or document

  1. Launch Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY on your iOS device.
  2. Tap Scan.

  3. If you'd like to change or adjust any scan settings, tap the Change settings icon blue arrow.

  4. After changing the settings if desired, tap Scan.
  5. The scan will begin.

  6. After the scan has completed, load another document and tap Scan if you wish to scan another page.  Otherwise, tap Exit.

  7. After you have finished scanning, tap the Share icon yellow arrow.

    On other iOS devices, the icon may be on another part of the screen.
  8. Tap Use as JPEG if you scanned in a picture, or Use as PDF if you scanned in a document.

  9. Tap Mail.

  10. In the new message window, type:
    • Recipient's email address
    • Email subject
    • Your message
  11. Tap Send to send the email.

    Note: Your scanned image is automatically attached to the email.
