User-friendly reception

By default, User-friendly reception is set to ON. If it was set to OFF and you want to change this setting, follow these steps.
 

1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.
    
2. From the HOME screen, use the arrow keys to select FAX and press OK.
   
   
    
3. Use the arrow keys to select Function list and press the OK button.
   
   
    
4. Use the arrow keys to select Receive mode settings and press the OK button.
   
   
    
5. Use the arrow keys to select Tel priority mode.  With this option highlighted, press the right Function key below the screen.
   
   
    
6. Use the arrow keys to select User-friendly reception, and press the OK button.
   
   
    
7. Use the arrow keys to choose OFF or ON, and press the OK button.
   
   
   
   ON: Is the default setting and the printer will monitor an incoming call when the answering machine that is connected directly to the fax answers that call.  If the printer detects fax tones through the answering machine, the printer will take over the call and take in the fax.
   
   OFF: The printer will not monitor an incoming call when the answering machine that is connected directly to the fax answers that call.
    
8. Press the HOME button.
