Description

Use the Easy Wireless Connect method to connect a PIXMA TS8020 to a wireless network (LAN) using Windows .

Solution

The instructions below show how to use use the Easy Wireless Connect method to print and scan wirelessly from the PIXMA TS8020 to a Windows computer.

NoteFirst the printer must be connected to the wireless network and then the drivers and applications must be installed on the computer.

 

The setup process consists of 2 parts

  1. Starting Easy Wireless Connect
  2. Download and run the setup files

 

1.  Start Easy Wireless Connect

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.

    If the power is on, the POWER lamp (A) will be lit.

NoteIf the printer is performing any process, wait for the process to finish before starting setup.

  1. If HOME is displayed on the left side of the screen, tap HOME.
    If an error screen is displayed, tap OK, then tap HOME.

  2. Tap Network status (B).

  3. Tap LAN settings.

  4. Tap Wireless LAN.

  5. Tap Wireless LAN setup.

  6. Tap Easy wireless connect.

  7. Tap Yes.

    Easy wireless connect screen: Settings will be made on a computer or smartphone, etc.

  8. When the printer preparation is complete, the screen below appears.
    Return to the setup application screen and proceed with the setup.

    Easy wireless connect screen: Follow the instructions on the computer or smartphone, etc. to perform the operation.



     

2. Download and run the setup file
 

Click here to Get the Setup File, or use the Setup CD-Rom.

Read the information carefully taking note how to run the setup file if setup does not start automatically. Then Tap Download.

 

  1. Select Start Setup.

    Start Setup screen. Click the Start Setup button (outlined in red) to begin the setup process

  2. Select appropriate region and click Next.

    Select your country or region and click Next (outlined in red)

  3. Select Yes on the License Agreement.

    Read the license agreement and click Yes (outlined in red) to proceed. If you click No, the setup process will be aborted

  4. Select Agree or Do Not Agree to the Survey.

  5. Select Next.

    Firewall Settings screen: Deactivate the block is checked. Click Next (outlined in red) to proceed

  6. Select Yes on the Connection Method.

    Note (Model #) is used as an example. Actual model series number will appear in the setup program.

    Confirm that your printer's serial number shows in the Check the Connection Method window, then click Yes (outlined in red) to proceed

  7. Setup continues.  If the Select wireless router screen (below) appears, select the wireless router to connect to the printer, enter the Network Key (password) and click Next.
    NoteThe router being used and its network settings determines whether or not this screen appears

    Select wireless router screen: Select your wireless router from the list, enter the network key, then click Next (outlined in red)

  8. Information appears.

    Setting Up screen: The network connection is temporarily disabled, please wait

  9. Network Connection completed.  Click Next.

    Connection completed screen: Click Next (outlined in red)

  10. Setup complete. Click Next.

    Setup Complete screen: Click Next (outlined in red) to proceed. If you want this printer to be the default printer on the computer, select "Set as default printer"

    Note If you want this printer to be the default printer on your computer, select Set as default printer.

  11. Select any optional application software desired (Defaults, Clear All or select by checkbox).  Click Next.

    Software Installation List: Select the software to install, then click Next (outlined in red) to proceed

  12. Click Next.

    You Can Print from a Smartphone or Tablet screen: Click Next (outlined in red) to proceed

  13. Click Next or Skip.

    User Registration screen: Click Next or Skip (both buttons outlined in red) to proceed

  14. Click Exit.

    Installation completed successfully. Click Exit (outlined in red) to exit the setup program
