This article takes you through the Easy Wireless Connect method to set up your PIXMA printer on a Wi-Fi® network from a Windows computer.
There are two parts to the setup process:
- Start Easy Wireless Connect on your printer
- Download and run the setup file on your computer.
1. Start Easy Wireless Connect on your printer

Make sure your printer is turned on. If the power is on, the power lamp (A) will be lit.

If the printer is performing cleaning, print head alignment, or other tasks, wait for it finish before you start setup.

Press the Setup button (B) on the printer.

Use the right or left arrows (C) to select Wireless LAN setup.

Press the OK button.

Select Easy WL connect.

Press the OK button.

When the printer preparation is complete, the screen below appears.

Return to the application screen and proceed with the setup.
2. Download and run the setup file on your computer
- Get the Setup file and read the information carefully, noting how to run the setup file if it doesn't start automatically. Then select Download. (Setup can also be performed by using the Setup CD-ROM).

Select Start Setup.
The option to Use the updated software found on the Internet only appears if you use the Setup CD. If you choose this option, the installer finds the latest drivers and software online. Clear the check box if you want to use the the drivers and software on the Setup CD.

Select your Country or Region, then select Next.

Select Yes on the License Agreement screen.

Select Agree or Do Not Agree to the Extended Survey, then select Next.

Select Next on the Firewall Settings screen.

Select Yes on the Connection Method screen.

Setup continues. If the Select wireless router screen (below) appears, select your router to connect to the printer, enter the Network Key (password) and click Next. (Depending on your router, this screen may not appear.)

Wait while the setup continues.

You will see the Connection completed screen. You're almost finished.

On the Setup Complete screen, select Next. If this is your dedicated printer, select the checkbox to make it the default.

Select any optional application software desired (check or uncheck the box to select). Select Next.

Click Next on the You Can Print... screen.

Click Next or Skip on the User Registration screen.

Choose Exit. Setup is complete.
