If paper jams during printing, press the Stop button to stop the print job, then turn off the printer.
If the jammed paper tears and you can't remove it, follow these steps.
-
Turn off printer and unplug it.
-
Pull out the paper output tray and open the cover, being careful not to touch the clear film (A). If you soil or scratch this part by touching it with paper or your hand, it could damage the printer.
-
Check to see if any paper is under FINE cartridge holder.
-
If the jammed paper is under the cartridge holder, move the cartridge slowly to the right or left, whichever makes it easier to remove the paper.
-
Hold the jammed paper firmly with both hands and pull it out slowly to prevent further tears.
-
Check the following and remove any remaining paper.
-
Any paper left under the FINE cartridge holder?
-
Any small bits of paper left in the printer?
-
Any paper left in the left and right empty spaces (B) in the printer?
-
Close the cover and restart your print job.
Make sure to use suitable paper and load it correctly. If a paper jam message appears again, check to see if there are bits of paper still inside the printer.
