Error Codes (EOS 6D Mark II)

Solution

 

If there is a problem with the camera, an error message will appear. Follow the onscreen instructions.

 


 

Error Messages and Solutions
Code Number Message Solution
Err 01 Communication between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts. »Clean the electrical contacts on the camera and lens.
»Remove and install the battery again.
»Use a Canon lens.
»If the methods above do not return the camera to normal, contact a Canon customer service center to discuss testing/repair of your camera/lens.(CAUTION.1)
Err 02 Card cannot be accessed. Reinsert/change card or format card with the camera. »Remove and insert the card again.
»Replace the card.
»Format the card.(CAUTION.2)
Err 04 Cannot save images because card is full. Replace card. »Replace the card.
»Erase unnecessary images to increase the available capacity.
»Format the card.(CAUTION.2)
Err 06 Sensor cleaning could not be performed. Turn the camera off and on again. »Set the power switch to and then turn the camera on again.
»If the methods above do not return the camera to normal, contact a Canon customer service center to discuss testing/repair of your camera.(CAUTION.1)
Err 10, 20, 30, 40,50, 60, 70, 80, 99 An error prevented shooting. Turn the camera off and on again or re-install the battery. »Set the power switch to and then turn the camera on again.
»Remove and install the battery again.
»Use a Canon lens.
»If the methods above do not return the camera to normal, contact a Canon customer service center to discuss testing/repair of your camera/lens.(CAUTION.1)

IMPORTANT
If the error message still persists after following the above instructions, write down the error code number and contact your nearest Canon Service Center.
CAUTION
  • When the card is formatted, all images and data in the card will be erased. Even protected images will be erased, so make sure there is nothing you need to keep. If necessary, transfer the images and data to a computer, etc., before formatting the card.
