Description

Use the Easy Wireless Connect method to connect the PIXMA TS8120 to a wireless network using Windows.

Solution

Learn how to use the Easy Wireless Connect method to connect your PIXMA TS8120 wirelessly.

 First the printer must be connected to the wireless network and then the drivers and software installed on the computer.

 


The setup process consists of 2 parts.

  1. Start Easy Wireless Connect.
  2. Download and run the setup files.

 

1. Start Easy Wireless Connect

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
    If the power is on, the power lamp (A) will be lit.

     If the printer is performing any process, wait for the process to finish before starting setup.

  2. If HOME is displayed on the left side of the screen, tap HOME.
    If an error screen is displayed, tap OK, then tap HOME.

  3. Select Network status (B).

  4. Select LAN settings.

  5. Select Wireless LAN.

  6. Select Wireless LAN setup.

  7. Select Easy wireless connect.

  8. Select Yes.

    Easy wireless connect screen: Settings will be made on a computer or smartphone, etc.

  9. When the printer preparation is complete, the screen below appears.
    Return to the setup application screen to continue the setup.

    Easy wireless connect screen: Follow the instructions on the computer or smartphone, etc. to perform the operation.




2. Download and run the setup file.

Follow the link to get the setup file, identify file for your operating system then tap Download or use the CD-ROM. 
 If setup does not start automatically after download, follow the instructions on how to run the setup file.

  1. Select Start Setup.

    Start Setup screen: Click Start Setup (outlined in red)

     If Use the updated software found on internet is selected, the installer will obtain the latest drivers and software for your printer from the internet. This option only appears when using the Setup CD.

  2. Select appropriate region and tap Next.

    Select your country or region, then click Next (outlined in red)

  3. Select Yes.

    License Agreement screen: Read the license agreement, then click Yes to proceed

  4. Select Agree or Do Not Agree to the Survey.

    Extended Survey Program: Click Agree or Do not agree to proceed

  5. Tap Next.

    Firewall Settings screen: Make sure that Deactivate the bloxk is selected, then click Next (outlined in red)

  6. Select Yes.

    Check the Connection Method screen: Make sure your printer's serial number appears, then click Yes (outlined in red)

  7. Setup continues.  If the Select wireless router screen (below) appears, select the wireless router to connect to the printer, enter the Network Key (password) and tap Next.
     The router being used and its network settings determines whether or not this screen appears

    Select wireless router screen: Select your router from the list, enter the network key into the box provided, then click Next (outlined in red)

  8. Information appears.

    Setting Up: Network connection is temporarily disabled

  9. Tap Next.

    Connection completed: Click Next (outlined in red)

  10. Head Alignment and Test Print screens appear next.  These are optional, but if you choose to perform these functions carefully follow the on-screen instructions.

  11. Setup complete.  Tap Next.

     The printer will  automatically be set as the default printer on your computer, if you do not the printer to be the default you must de-select this option.

  12. Select optional software desired.  Default selections are made but use Clear All, or checkboxes to add or remove options.  Then tap Next.

    Software Installation List: Select additional software to install, then click Next (outlined in red)

  13. Tap Next.

    You Can Print from a Smartphone or Tablet screen: click Next (outlined in red)

  14. Select Next or Skip.

    User Registration screen: Click Skip or Next (outlined in red)

  15. Tap Exit.

    Installation completed succesfully: Click Exit (outlined in red)
