Wi-Fi Set Up With a Mac - PIXMA TR7520 Printer

Description

Use the Easy Wireless Connect method to connect a PIXMA TR7520 to a wireless network (LAN) using a Mac.

Solution

To be able to use the PIXMA TR7520 to print or scan wirelessly on a Mac® computer, the printer must first be connected to the wireless network. Then, software must be installed on the computer. 

The instructions / screenshots below show the setup program steps when using the Easy Wireless Connect method to connect the printer wirelessly.

There are two parts to the setup process:

  1. Start Easy Wireless Connect on the printer.

  2. Download and run the setup files on your computer.

1. Start Easy Wireless Connect on the printer

  1. Make sure that the printer is turned ON.
    Note If the printer is busy with a print head alignment or another process, wait for it to finish before you begin.

  2. Select the Network Status Button (A)  on the printer.

  3. Select LAN settings on the WLAN setting list screen.

  4. Select Wireless LAN.

  5. Select Wireless LAN setup.

  6. Select Easy wireless connect.

  7. Select Yes.

    Settings will be made on a computer or smartphone, etc. OK? Tap Yes

  8. When the printer preparation completes, the screen below appears.|

    Follow the instructions on the computer or smartphone, etc.

  9. Return to the setup application screen and proceed with the setup.

 
 

2. Download and run the setup file on your computer

  1. Get the setup file. Read any warning messages that appear during setup then select Download.

 If you see a message like this:

Select OK. Then, control-click on the setup file, select Open, then select Open in the error message window. This will allow the setup program to proceed.

  1. Select Next on the first screen.

  2. Enter your computer User Name and Password, then select Install Helper.

  3. Select Start Setup.

  4. Select the appropriate region, then tap Next.

  5. Select Yes on the License Agreement screen.

    Read the license agreement, then click Yes (outlined in red) to proceed. Clicking No will cancel the setup process

  6. Select Agree or Do not agree to the Survey.

  7. A status check occurs.

  8. Select Yes on the connection method.

    Check the Connection Method screen: Verify that your printer shows in this screen, then click Yes (outlined in red)

  9. Setup continues. If the Select wireless router screen (below) appears, select the router to connect to the printer, enter the network key (password) and tap Next.
    Note Your router and network settings determine whether or not this screen appears.

    Select wireless router screen: Select your network, enter the network key into the field provided, click Next (outlined in red)

  10. Network connection completed. Tap Next.

  11. IJ Scan Utility is installed. Wait for it to finish.

  12. If the following message appears, select Allow.

    Setup wants to access your network key. Click Allow (outlined in red)

  13. Tap Add Printer on the Add Printer screen.

  14. On the Add screen, select the Canon TR7500 series with Bonjour Multifunction listed in the Kind column. Select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the Use: drop-down list, then tap Add.

    Add window: Select your printer, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint, then click Add (outlined in red)

  15. Tap Next on the Add Printer screen.

  16. Tap Next.

  17. Setup is complete. Tap Next.

  18. Select any optional software desired, then tap Next.

  19. Tap Next.

    You Can Print from a Smartphone or Tablet: Click Next (outlined in red)

  20. Select Next or Skip.

    User Registration: Click Next or Skip (outlined in red)

  21. Tap Exit.

    Installation completed successfully. Click Exit (outlined in red)
