USB Setup for the imageCLASS MF735Cdw, MF733Cdw, MF731Cdw, MF642Cdw, MF634Cdw, and MF632Cdw (Windows)

Description

This article provides instructions on how to setup your imageCLASS MF735Cdw, MF733Cdw, MF731Cdw,MF642Cdw,  MF634Cdw, and MF632Cdw printers with a USB connection

 

Solution

Do not plug in the USB cable before installing the software. If you have already connected the cable, please disconnect it before starting.

Follow the instructions below for downloading and installing your printer, scanner, and fax driver depending on which model you have.
 

In the illustrations below we used the imageCLASS MF729Cdw and Windows 7 64 bit. The screens may vary somewhat based on your selections and the browser you use.

To download drivers and software for your device, please follow the instructions below:

Note: The instructions below are using screen shots for Internet Explorer.

1. Visit http://consumer.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer

2. Type your model name into the search box and select it from the list that appears. 



3. Click the 'GO' button to get to the Drivers & Downloads page for your model.

4. From the Drivers & Downloads Tab, Select your Operating System and Version from the provided drop-down menu.



5. The most common driver to use will be listed in the Recommended Section.  Click [SELECT] next to the driver you need as shown in the illustration above and then click [DOWNLOAD].


6. Click [Run] to begin downloading and installing the driver software.

Chrome users must click the download at the bottom left to run the file once it is complete.
 

7.  Click [RUN] to install the software.



8.  Click [Next] on the Welcome to the Setup Wizard for the MF Drivers.



9.  Click [Yes] on the License Agreement.



10.  Select USB Connection.




11. The installer program will begin copying files.


12.  When the following screen appears, connect the device and computer with a USB cable, then turn on the device.



If the following screen is displayed, turn the device off, then reconnect the USB cable at both ends and turn the device on again.



13. Click [Exit].
If installed correctly, an MF driver icon is displayed in the locations shown next. If the icon is not displayed, unnstall the MF driver and reinstall it.

 
For a printer driver or fax driver:
Windows 10
[Settings] > [Devices] > [Printers & Scanners] >[Printers]
All other versions of Windows
Windows Control Panel > [Devices and Printers], [Printers] or [Printers and Faxes].

For a scanner driver:
Windows Control Panel > [Scanners and Cameras]

Congratulations, your drivers are installed and you should be able to print, fax, and scan now depending on your model.
