This article explains how to connect your printer to a wireless LAN via Bluetooth using Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY for iOS.

Solution

Some printers can be connected to a wireless LAN using Bluetooth and Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY for iOS.  To connect your printer to a wireless LAN using Bluetooth, follow the steps below.

  • Not all models will support this function.  For a list of models that support connection to a wireless LAN via Bluetooth, please click here.
     
  • The images in this article were taken from an iPhone 8 Plus.  Other iOS devices may have a different layout.
     
  • This article assumes that you already have Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY installed on your iOS device.  If you do not have this app, please click here.
 
  1. Upon launching the app, tap No when asked if you want to search for available printers.


     
  2. Tap on the screen once.



    Tap More.


     
  3. Tap Bluetooth Setup.



    The following message will appear.



    Tap Next.  Tapping Supported Printers will take you here.

    The following message will appear.  Tap OK.



    Your iOS device will search for printers that can be paired via Bluetooth.


     
  4. When your printer appears, tap it.



    Your iOS device will communicate with the printer.



    A message will appear that indicates that a 6 digit number will appear on the display for your printer.  Tap Next on this message.



    Your iOS device will communicate with the printer.


     
  5. When this message appears, a 6 digit number will appear on the display of your printer.



    Type in the number shown on the display and then tap Pair.

    Your iOS device will communicate with the printer.



    The following message will appear.  Tap OK.



    Your iOS device will continue communicating with the printer.



    When you see a confirmation message indicating that the printer and your iOS device are paired, tap OK.



    The iOS device will acquire the printer's information.


     
  6. The process will be complete.  At this time, tap Select images if you would like to print an image.  Tap Cancel if you do not wish to print at this time.
