Your MAXIFY printer can be connected to a wireless LAN using its operation panel to enter in the network information. This is known as the
Standard setup method. To connect your printer to a wireless LAN using this method, follow the steps below.
- From the HOME screen, tap the Wi-Fi icon.
- Tap LAN settings.
- Tap Wireless LAN setup.
- Tap Standard setup.
- Your printer will search for nearby wireless networks. Find your network in the list by either swiping up and down or tapping the arrow icons on the right side of the screen. When you see your network in the list, tap it. To search again for networks, tap Search again.
- You will see a screen asking you to enter in your passphrase or WEP key, depending on your encryption type. Tap the screen.
- You will see an on-screen keyboard. Tap the characters for your wireless passphrase or WEP key. If you have entered in the wrong character, press the Backspace icon to remove the character that you entered.
If you need to switch between upper and lower case letters, tap the up arrow at the lower left corner of the screen.
If your wireless passphrase contains a symbol, tap the symbol under the left arrow at the lower left corner of the screen.
There are a few additional symbols that you can pick from if needed. Tap the up arrow to see these symbols.
When you have finished entering in your passphrase, tap OK.
- You will be back at the screen that asked you to enter your network passphrase or WEP key. If you believe you have made any mistakes, tap the screen and you will return to the on-screen keyboard so that you can make any changes needed.
Otherwise, tap OK.
The printer will attempt to connect to the wireless router.
When the printer has connected to the wireless router, tap OK.
Wireless setup is complete.
If your printer fails to connect to the network, an error message will appear. Tap
OK on the error and re-enter your network key. Attempt to connect again.
