Description
This article describes how to prepare/install the ink cartridge so that you can use the imprinter to print text or a bitmap on scanned documents.
Compatible ink cartridges for the CR-120/120N/150: PG-145 or PG-145XL
NOTE: The ink cartridge is not included with the scanner and needs to be purchased separately.
Solution
The ink cartridge needs to be installed in order to be able to use the imprinter. Follow these instructions to install the ink cartridge.
To install the ink cartridge, turn the scanner OFF before removing the Top Cover. After the ink cartridge has been installed, replace the Top cover, and then turn the scanner back ON.
Once the seal on the ink cartridge has been broken, install it as soon as possible.
Remove the Top Cover.
Flip over the Nozzle Cleaning Unit to expose the cartridge holder.
Remove the ink cartridge from it's bag.
Do not touch the ink cartridge contacts. This can cause a bad electrical contact and reduce print quality.
Grasp the tag and then peel off the tape covering the ink jet nozzles.
Do not touch the ink jet nozzles or contacts after peeling off the tag and tape.
Place the ink cartridge shown in the diagram below.
Do not touch the electrical contact on the carriage. Doing so may cause a malfunction.
Do not use more than one cartridge at a time. If you swap out multiple ink cartridges before they are empty, applications will not be able to check the ink level correctly.
Push the ink cartridge in the direction of the arrow until it clicks into place.
Make sure that the ink cartridge is securely in place.
