1. Set the lens focus mode switch to <AF>.
   
2. Turn <ON> the camera.
   
3. Set the Live View shooting/Movie shooting switch to <> .
   
4. Press the <> button to display the live view image on the LCD monitor.
   
5. Select an AF point.
   • When a face is detected, the <> AF point appears over the face.
   • If multiple faces are detected, <> is displayed. Use <> to move the <> frame over the target face.
     
   • Face detection does not work if the subject is out of focus. You can prevent this by setting [  : Continuous AF] to [Enable].
   • An object other than a human face may be detected as a face.
   • Face detection does not work if the face is very small or large in the picture, too bright or too dark, or partially hidden.
   • The <> may cover only part of the face.
6. Press the shutter button halfway to focus.
   
   • When focus is achieved, the AF point turns green and the camera beeps.
   • If focus is not achieved, the AF point turns orange.
7. Press the shutter button the rest of the way to take the picture
   
   • The picture is taken and the captured image is displayed on the LCD monitor.
   • When the playback display ends, the camera will return to Live View shooting automatically.
8. Press the <> button to end the Live View shooting.

Good to know

• Do not point the camera toward an intense light source, such as the sun or a bright light. You can damage the image sensor. 
• The field of view is about 100% (when the image-recording quality is set to JPEG  ).
• In the <P> <Tv> <Av> <M> <B> shooting modes, you can check the depth of field by pressing the depth-of-field preview button.
• During continuous shooting, the exposure set for the first shot is applied to subsequent shots.
• You can also use a remote controller (sold separately) for Live View shooting.
• Use a tripod to reduce camera shake.
